Berry Alloys unit 2, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berry Alloys Limited, has initiated a significant backward integration and capacity expansion project at its manufacturing complex in Ghatsila, Jharkhand.
The project includes the installation of two 1,000 TPD Sponge Iron plants and a 90 MW Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant (WHRP) to generate captive electricity, ensuring substantial energy cost savings and enhanced operational sustainability for the company’s existing 24 MVA furnace operations.
In parallel, Berry Alloys unit 2 is also establishing two 30 MVA Submerged Arc Furnaces dedicated to the production of refined ferro alloys, further strengthening its position as an integrated and cost-efficient ferro alloy producer. The expansion underscores Berry Alloys’ long-term commitment to green energy utilisation, process efficiency, and value creation across the steel value chain.
The Project Management Office (PMO) for this development is being led by Ernst & Young (EY), ensuring robust execution and governance. The company remains on track to commission the first phase by March 2026.
